The Magic of Making Up, unlike other books that give readers advice on love and how to fix break ups, actually aims to keep couples together in the long term. T.W. Jackson’s book does not provide methods that are there to fix the problems in the short term. Rather, what this book teaches its readers is how to value not only the relationship with their partners but more importantly, it reminds the people that they need to understand and love their own selves first before other people understand and love them. They have to accept themselves for who they are as well as admit their weaknesses and do something about them. Aside from building a stronger relationship, one of the long-term benefits of this book’s methods is that it gives its readers a chance to look into themselves and have them develop self worth. In addition, one will only be able to commit in a long-term relationship if he or she understands how to be responsible, which is covered in the book too.
